A uniformed workforce that cleans public places and maintains landscaping in Downtown Detroit. Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit trains and supervises employees. The program is funded by Downtown Detroit Partnership. Clean Downtown provides work for people recently released from prison.
The Partnership got a $1.69-million grant from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority in July 2009, which will help it continue the program.
