Other information: Home from the 1930s of the Town of Harrietstown Town Clerk Matthew Marsh Munn.

Later the home of Saranac Lake Police Chief William J. Wallace in the 1940s 1 thru 1980 when Alice Munn Wallace passed on the house to nephew Jim Munn who lived there thru 1999.

    2012-02-15 11:07:02   The distinctive curved "tower" (or cure porch) first appears on the Sanborn map for 1924, the year that the whole block up to the McComb Street intersection is shown on the map. However, it seems that the house might originally have been a simple rectangle and was added to by 1924, as a house with verandas all across the street side and downhill side is shown on the 1908 and 1916 maps. But because the whole block isn't shown in those years, I'm not perfectly certain that it's the same house. —MaryHotaling
