Bear Pond is a 58-acre pond on the eastern edge of the St. Regis Canoe Area. It is part of the Seven Carries canoe route from Paul Smith's Hotel to the Saranac Inn. Its eastern shore can be reached from Upper St. Regis Lake via Bog Pond by two less than one hundred yard carries. A 0.15 mile carry from its western shore leads to Little Long Pond. Its shoreline is state-owned except for the section closest to Upper St. Regis Lake; there is also a privately-owned island with a lean-to near that shore.
