The Trudeau Institute's Board of Trustees has elected Benjamin Brewster chairman of the board and Maury Pages vice chairman. The election came during the board's semiannual meeting at the institute's Saranac Lake facility.
A managing director at Silvercrest Asset Management Group in Charlottesville, Va., Brewster has been a Trudeau Institute trustee since 1993 and has been serving as vice chairman since 2007.
Brewster's family has been associated with the Trudeau Institute for a century, and he is the third generation to sit on the institute's Board of Trustees. His father, Edward C. Brewster, worked with Dr. Francis B. Trudeau Jr. to transition the institute from a tuberculosis sanitarium and research facility to its current status as a world-class medical-research center. Edward's father, George S. Brewster (a contemporary of institute founder Dr. E. L. Trudeau), served on the board of the institute's predecessor, the Adirondack Cottage Sanitarium (later the Trudeau Sanatorium).
Brewster and his wife, Antoinette, reside in Charlottesville.
