SARANAC LAKE — Benjamin R. Frantz, 74, of 2 State St. died Wednesday at his home. He was born Dec. 16, 1905, the son of Benjamin and Leila Johnson Frantz.
Mr. Frantz lived in Saranac Lake for the past 10 years. He worked for the New York State Division of Audit and Control as a principal account clerk for many years until he retired in 1970.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corp.
He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Woodley of Saranac Lake, one niece and one nephew.
Calling hours will be today 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Fortune Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Chatterton officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Ridge Cemetery.
