Bloomingdale Firemen was the local baseball team of Bloomingdale, New York. They were also known as the 'Dalers.

DALERS DEFEAT CHIEFS, 4-1
The Saranac Lake Chiefs — forced to field a makeshift lineup which included oldtimer Ed Duprey, scheduled to umpire the game, and Rudy Ormsby, regular scorekeeper—dropped the second of their inter - village exhibition, series yesterday evening to the Bloomingdale Firemen, 4-1, in a six-inning game played on Youth Commission Field.
The Dalers now lead in the series, 2-0, having won the opener, 5-3, on Municipal Field on June 29.
Bugs Pratt was pressed into mound service by Manager Clyde Baker who went behind the bat while Bill Root shifted to short from his regular second base slot. Duprey played second and handled three of four chances, one of which was a nice stop and peg for an assist on Warren Left's hard shot in the third inning.
The Dalers tallied a singleton in the bottom of the first frame when Rog Stephenson was safe on Duprey's error of his grounder with Jim Derby and Manager Dan Mc- Killip following with one - base knocks. Jim Stephenson fanned but Bob Pedersen poked a long fly to left to score Rog .Stephenson on the sacrifice.
The Dalers clustered three in the next inning on singles by Jerry Shore, a fielder's choice on Leib's grounder to Duprey, a walk to Rog Stephenson, a one-base smack to left by Derby, an error by Dick Toohey on McKillip's bunt and Jim Stephenson's blow through the hole between short and third.
The so-called Chiefs registered their lone run of the game in the fourth as Baker led off with a walk, went to third when Jim Stephenson pegged wild to first on Warren Schlickenrieder's infield shot and scored as Toohey went out on a fielder's choice to Derby.
The Chiefs loaded the bases in their final at bats in the sixth on a miscue at short and back-to-back infield safeties by Lymie Cassavaugh and Dick Toohey but Pratt forced Schlickenrieder at home on his tap to McKillip and Duprey and Ormsby ended the frame by striking out.
McKillip on the rubber for the Dailers let the Chiefs down with four hits, two of which were of the scratch variety. The Daler manager whiffed eight over the six innings to Pratt's five and gave up three walks to Pratt's two.
The Chiefs will meet Au Sable Forks Sunday afternoon in a Champlain Valley League game on Municipal Field. The'Dalers have drawn a bye for Sunday in the Adirondack League schedule.
