The Cantwell Room

The Thomas B. Cantwell Community Room, known as the Cantwell Rool, is a conference room on the lower level of the Saranac Lake Free Library. It hosts large group activities and meetings, including twice a year book sales, weekly "brown bag lunch" talks, conferences, and art events.  It was named for Thomas B. Cantwell, Library President; it dates to 1978.

Over 40 local children, ages 7 to 13, participated in the three session craft program held last week in the Cantwell Community Room of the Saranac Lake Free Libary, Sponsored by the National Fine Arts Committee, the, children enjoyed making macrame belts, weaving and making cards from plaster prints. The classes were taught by Carmen Drury, Julie Lamy, and Sister Carolyn Madden.
