Charles J. Scollin was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of George W. and Bertha (Conklin) Scollin.

Charles J 'Chick' Scollin

SARANAC LAKE - Charles J. 'Chick' Scollin, 81, of 3 Riverside Drive, died Monday, Sept. 4, 1995 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born April 8, 1914 in Auburn, he was a son of George W. and Bertha (Conklin) Scollin.  

Mr. Scollin was a veteran of WWII having served in the Navy, a member of the VFW, the American Legion, Saranac Lake Golf Club, an avid skier and caddied at the Saranac Lake Golf Club for many years.

He was employed by the American Management Association in Saranac Lake as supervisor of direct services to registrants from 1957-1961 and later worked for Albany Frosted Food, at Downing and Cane's as a waiter and bar tender, was a manager at the Burger family restaurant and as a waiter and at the Brookside Restaurant.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond M. of Saranac Lake and Robert J. of Marshall, N.C.; a daughter, Margaret K. Sawyer of Zephyrhills, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:15 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard's Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Saranac Lake Rescue Squad in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.
