Charles Levene, electrical contractor of this village, was nursing serious burns on his face, received when a motorboat was destroyed by fire on Upper St. Regis lake. Levene and the operator of the boat were removed from the blazing craft just in time to avoid being forced to choose between an attempt to swim to safety and more serious burns. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at the Fortune Funeral Chapel for Charles Levene, who died at his home, 5 Algonquin Ave., yesterday. Rabbi Alfred H. Rahn officiated. Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Levene, an electrical contractor in Saranac Lake, was born in Russia on August 14, 1880. He had been a resident of this village for 32 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Ada Goldsmith, a son, Richard, and a granddaughter, all of this village.
