Charles Wesley Golder was an engineer who worked on the buildings for the 1932 Winter Olympics.  He may have had tuberculosis.

DEATH CLAIMS CHARLES W. GOLDER, SARANAC ENGINEER

SARANAC LAKE—Charles W. Golder, member of the firm of Smith, Golder & Homburger, died yesterday morning at 6 o'clock at his home, 14 Winona Avenue, following an illness of a week.

An engineer of unusual skill, Mr. Golder and other members of the firm were responsible for much of the engineering that made possible the Third Winter Olympic Games at Lake Placid.

Mr. Golder was born in Jamaica. L. I., and received his professional training at Heffley institute in Brooklyn. Following his graduation he accepted a position as instructor in mathematics at that school. He came to Saranac Lake 15 years ago.

In 1926 be entered into partnership with Frank W. Smith and the firm was incorporated in 1929 when Henry Homburger became a member. A spectacular career was cut short by Mr. Golder's untimely death at the age of 37, professional associates believe.

Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Henrietta Golder, Saranac Lake; his widow, Mrs. Olive Golder, Spring, Lake, N. J., four sisters, Miss Florence Golder of Saranac Lake, Mrs. F. J. Kaiser, Mrs. Geo. DeLatron and Miss Maude Golder, all of Flushing, L. I.
