Donald E. Anderson, the postmaster at Saranac Inn, died suddenly Sunday afternoon as he was returning from Dannemora Prison where he did volunteer work with prisoners.
Mr. Anderson was born Aug. 12, 1912 in Brooklyn, son of Fred and Nancy Skea Anderson. He was a veteran of World War II and had lived in Lake Clear for 16 years. For the past four years, Mr. Anderson had served as first reader of the Christian Science Society of Saranac Lake.
Survivors are his wife, the former Margaret Jones; a son, Staff Sgt. Donald Gordon Anderson stationed in Japan; two brothers, Robert W. of Madison, N.J. and Gordon S., of Milbrook; nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
