Eugenia "Jean" Lamy was a World War II veteran.  She was a daughter of Edmund and Jane (Hutchinson) Lamy.

SARANAC LAKE — Eugenia M. Lamy, 73, of 20 Church St., died Sunday, May 29, 1994 at the Adirondack Medical Center of Saranac Lake.

Born Sept. 3, 1920 in Saranac Lake, she was the daughter of Edmund and Jane (Hutchinson) Lamy.

A lifelong resident of Saranac Lake, she was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marines. She was employed as a telephone Operator by New York Telephone for many years, until her retirement.

She was an active member of St. Bernard's  Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Court St. Bernard No. 787 and the Third Order of St. Francis, St. Joseph Fraternity.  She was also a life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Rene (Ruth) Gendron of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a brother, John Lamy of Rochester; a sister-in-law, Margaret Lamy of Rainbow Lake; an aunt; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A brother, James, predeceased her.

Calling hours will be held today from 2 to 4 and,7 to 9 p.m. at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A combined Catholic Daughters and Third Order of St. Francis Bible vigil will be held at 8. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Church. Interment will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Bernard's School.
