A native of Saranac Lake, Mrs. Fay Moody Rice graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1952.  She served in the United States Air Force. She and her husband subsequently lived in Hawaii, Mississippi , Texas and North Africa..

Mrs. Fay M. Rice, age 85, of Pineville, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, in Marksville, Louisiana.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory, Ball, Louisiana.

Mrs. Rice was a loving mother and grandmother. She was born on Oct. 15, 1934, in Saranac Lake to Edmund Moody and Loretta Parker Moody. Mrs. Rice proudly served her country in the United States Air Force and she was able to travel around the world, including Morocco and Hawaii. She later worked in sales in retail. Mrs. Fay Rice had a bigger-than-life personality. She was outgoing and never met a stranger, but was strong-willed and very particular about certain things. She will forever be missed by those who loved and knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Raymond Rice; parents Edmund Henry Moody and Loretta May Parker Moody; and sisters Alberta Till and Barbara Bowden.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Vera Rice Clayton of Pineville, Louisiana, Vivian Rice Bodnaruk (Bruce) of British Columbia, Canada, and Valerie Rice Smith (Scott Weaver) of Ontario, Canada; son Ernie Rice (Peg) of Saranac Lake; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
