Florence Mulhern spent two years at the Trudeau Sanatorium and was one of the last patients to undergo the fresh air cure there. She lived with her husband in Lima, Perú and studied at San Marcos University. In 2010, Florence published "The Last Lambs on the Mountain: A Story of Illness, Hope and Despair at Saranac Lake in the New York Adirondacks." She came to Saranac Lake for a book signing and reading in 2010.

MULHERN TO INSTRUCT
Florence Mulhern, ceramics instructor at Trudeau Sanatorium, will be guest instructor at the Guild during the summer term, with classes set for 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Miss Mulhern was a Guild student in 1952 and 1953. She left a year ago to continue her studies at the Cranbrook Art Academy at Bloomfield Hill, Michi gan and recently returned to teach at Trudeau Sanatorium. On exhibit until July 6 in the Pine Room at Guild House is a display of ceramics by Miss Mulhern, including pottery, stoneware and porcelains made by her during her year at Cranbrook.

A brick at the Saranac Laboratory has been dedicated in the name of Florence Mulhern by Historic Saranac Lake.
