Adirondack Daily Enterprise, July 29, 1977Fobare & Sons was a plumbing and heating business owned by Chester Fobare who built a home for it at 6 James Street across the street from his house at 7 James Street. The business was founded by Leo Fobare in 1941 at 1 Virginia Street. It and employed all five of his children, Chester, Linus, Mac, Jerry, and Paula, as well as several grandsons.

BOARD OKAYS SEWER LINE FOR SCHOOL
Continuing in their dual roles, members of the Saranac Lake Central School Board were faced last night with making several decisions, as builders, about the new school in Bloomingdale and, as administrators, about the present schools.
Fobare and Sons who had been hired to construct the sewer line for the new school were pressing for a decision on the path of the line, the superintendent, Ernest Seifried, reported. In addition, the company needed to know immediately whether to purchase some scarce eight-inch pipe.
The Fobares had quoted a price for running the sewer line across school property to Johnson Ave. near Maple St. to meet an existing Bloomingdale village line but the village board has made an informal request to have the school line go directly to Johnson Ave. and along it.
According to Mr. Seifried, the Fobares are afraid of encountering rock along Johnson Ave. and, in addition say this way would require power tamping. On the recommendations of Trustee David Young, the board decided to buy the pipe which will be needed in any event. On a motion by Dr. Carl Merkel, the board further decided to investigate the possibility of having the line run along Johnson Ave., but on the school property rather than village property. Mr. Seifried suggested that someone in the school maintenance department use a post hole digger to see if rock would be encountered…
