Lake Placid News, January 25, 1946

Frank Conlin, now a Colonel in the Armed Forces, was in a few minutes ago, and he looks remarkably well.   Understand he returns to Alabama, and will likely not be discharged until late spring. In his army overcoat, he didn't at all resemble the snappy second-baseman find  [sic: and?] manager of the Saranac Lake baseball team of eighteen or twenty years ago. That came near being an all-Saranac team, with Jimmie La Pan at first, Joe Ladoucer at short (his nephew now local manager for Woolworth), Bob Bouck, Marsh Payne and Dick Conlin in the outfield, and the redoubtable Hick Hannaford covering third.  That was a good ball team, and "Connie" managed it for two successive years ... May we have some more good baseball before long—we're sure "itchin'" for it!

Adirondack Daily Enterprise, May 7, 1968

A former Saranac Lake resident, Frank A. Conlin, was honored recently on his retirement from the assistant directorship of the Lebanon, Pa. Veterans Administration Hospital. He had served 17 years in that position and 27 years in the federal service. He has been employed at hospitals in Chicago, Downey, Ill. and Marlin , Tex.

The president of the Employees Association at the hospital gave him a scroll bearing the resolution making him a lifetime member in the Veterans Administration Employees Association. At a reception in his honor, he also was presented with a certificate of commendation from the hospital director. Both cited his devotion to duty.

Mr. Conlin is a native of Massachusetts and a graduate of the University of Vermont. He was employed at Boyce and Roberson when he lived in Saranac Lake and left here in 1941 to serve in World War II. He was discharged from the Army in 1947 as a lieutenant colonel after having seen service In Europe and Asia. His first wife, the former Kathryn LaVallee of Saranac Lake, is deceased and Mr. Conlin and his present wife, Marcella, make their home at 25 Clearview Dr., Lebanon.
