SARANAC LAKE - John A. Premo, 40, a native of Saranac Lake, died Tuesday, October 13, in Chesapeake, Va., where he was stationed with the U.S. Navy.
He was born Dec. 15, 1946, in Saranac Lake, the son of Henry J. and Lela (Kuhl) Premo.
A 1964 graduate of St. Pius X High School in Saranac Lake, he received degrees from Paul Smith's College and Pittsburgh State University College.
Mr. Premo was a Vietnam veteran, serving two years with the U.S. Army. In 1973, he enlisted in the Navy and had attained the rank of chief petty officer.
Survivors include his father of Saranac Lake; two brothers, Pierre of Peru and Claude, who is stationed with the Navy in Great Lakes, Ill.; and one niece.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Fortune Funeral Home.
