John Rogers Dies, Once Owned Kahn House

John M. Rogers. 68, former resident of Vermontville and Bloomingdale, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold J. Peet in LeRoy. N. Y.

Mr. Rogers and his wife had gone there last week to attend the wedding of Mrs. Rogers' son, George N. Mayer, on Saturday.

Former owner of Fletcher's Farm at Vermontville, which he operated for many years. Mr. Rogers and his wife left Bloomingdale last year to live in Point Pleasant Beach, N.J. He formerly owned the Kahn cottage at the corner of Saranac and Hillcrest avenues which he sold to St. Agnes parish.

Mr. Rogers was born in Westville, the son of the late James C. and Emma Rogers. Elk services were conducted Tuesday evening and funeral rites were held on Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Alvin B. Gurley, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiated. Burial was in Union cemetery, Vermontville. Survivors include his wife, Anna Kaimer Rogers; his stepson, George N. Mayer; two brothers, Elmer Rogers of Vermontville and Ward Rogers of Rainbow Lake, and one sister, Mrs. Rupert Cass of Vermontville.
