SARANAC LAKE - Mrs. Katherine Hoctor, 89, died Monday evening at Champlain Valley Physicians' Hospital in Plattsburgh. She had been a resident of Saranac Lake for 80 years.
She was the former owner operator of the Katherine Hoctor Dress Shop on Broadway for 40 years.
Mrs. Hoctor was born Feb. 28 1890, in Lyon Mountain, the daughter of James Collins and Bridget Murnane. She married the late Cornelius Hoctor on June 14, 1917, in St. Bernard's Church. Mr. Hoctor died in 1973.
She was a charter member and a life member of the Catholic Daughter of America, Court St. Bernard. She will repose at the Keough and Son memorial Chapels Thursday afternoon and evening.
A CDA service will be held Thursday, at 3:3o p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is tentatively scheduled for Friday morning.
Interment will take place in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
