SARANAC LAKE -- Leo P Fobare died Saturday, July 19, 1997 at the Uhlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

Born Nov. 12, 1902 in Churubusco, he was the son of Louis and Cydonie (St. Mary) Fobare.

He was married to the former Laura Ashline on April 20, 1924. She survives.

Mr. Fobare moved to Saranac Lake in 1927 and was employed by Carson Bros. Plumbing and Heating for 13 years. In 1946 he started Fobare and Sons Plumbing and Heating Contractors.

He was an honorary life member of the Benevolent Protectorate Order of Elks 1508 of Saranac Lake and Plumbers Local 773.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Chester, Malcolm, and Jerry, all of Saranac Lake. Linus of Gabriels; a daughter. Mrs. Jerry (Paula) Cheney of Saranac Lake; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Louis Fobare, and a sister, Marion Sears.

Calling hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake Funeral services will follow at 3 pm. at the Funeral home with the Rev. William Neil, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow m the St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.
