SARANAC LAKE — Leon J. Latour of 141 Broadway, died Sunday morning, at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena where he had been a patient for a month.

He was born on Nov. 20, 1894, in Saranac Lake, the son of James and Melvina Yelle Latour. His wife, Mary Hart, died in February of this year.

He is survived by a son, James, and a daughter, Mrs. Kate Sturdy, both of this village, a sister, Mrs. Mary Ryan of Red Bank, N.J., four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was a life-long resident of Saranac Lake, a member of American Legion post 447, and a former member of Knights of Columbus. He had been the owner of Latour Fuel Co. until his retirement in 1963.

Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home this afternoon and evening. There will be a Bible Vigil this evening at 8 p.m. and a Mass of the Resurrection Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church. Interment will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
