Lillian L. Lange was the daughter of Arthur L. and Lillian (Duprey) Pratt. She grew up in Saranac Lake and was a 1941 graduate of SLHS. She married her husband, John L. Lange on October 4, 1958. Lillian began her career in retail behind the counter of Newberry's store in Saranac Lake. She later worked in the women's department at Leonard's Store. After her marriage, she moved to Rochester and Syracuse where she continued to work in retail before retiring.
