SARANAC LAKE - Mrs. Loretta King Betters, 81, died Wednesday, March 22, 1989, at Placid Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 8, 1907, in Dannemora, the daughter of Patrick and Loretta (Willette) King Sawyer.
Mrs. Betters lived in Saranac Lake most of her life and had worked as an executive secretary for New York State Department of Environmental Conservation at Ray Brook, retiring Dec. 1. 1970. She was a graduate of CCI Business College in Syracuse.
She had worked as a volunteer at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake and Meals on Wheels and was a member of CSEA.
On Sept. 13, 1936, in Dannemora, she married Orville E. Betters. He died in 1949.
Survivors include two nieces. Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Dattola of Tupper Lake and Mrs. A.J. (Loretta) MacGillivary. Newport Richey, Fla., whom she raised since childhood; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
