Lyman Lawrence was a World War II veteran. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Lawrence of 20 River Street.
In 2010 Ron Lawrence, son of Lymie and Jane, shared a story regarding his parents and a famous sporting event in 1956. Lymie and Jane had tickets to game 5 of the 1956 World Series at Yankee Stadium when Don Larsen of the Yankees pitched the only perfect game in World Series history. Since his parents had already gone to games 3 and 4 of the World Series they decided to skip game 5 since his mother wanted to go shopping. Ron said his father was a huge sports fan but on that particular day shopping won out over baseball.

Lyman R. Lawrence
WEBSTER — Lyman R. Lawrence, 71, of Webster and formerly of Saranac Lake, died Thursday, April 2, 1992, in Rochester General Hospital.
He was born on Dec 2, 1920, in Saranac Lake. He moved from Saranac Lake to Webster in 1987.
Mr. Lawrence was an owner of the Blue Line Sport Shop for about 15 years. He also served as a Harrietstown justice for more than 20 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, having spent four years in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the local chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and served locally as both a Boy Scout leader and a Little League manager.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; three sons, Richard, Ronald and Kenneth; and one granddaughter, Jamie.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Profetta Funeral Chapel, 1650 Empire Blvd., Webster. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Rita's Church in Webster. Interment will be in West Webster Cemetery.
