Malone Farmer, July 26, 1905

Mace W. Brown, son of the late Calvin Brown, of Saranac Lake, who went to the Klondike several years ago, was accidentally drowned at Little Alaska July 2nd while bathing in a lake near his home. Mr. Brown was about 36 years of age, in the prime of life, and was a young man of most exemplary habits and thoroughgoing uprightness of character. He was honest, manly, brave and the news of his death brings sadness to the heart of many an old friend. He leaves a wife and several brothers and sisters residing at Saranac Lake and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Benedict, residing at New Haven, Conn. The Bishop of Alaska officiated at Mr. Brown's funeral.
