Maude Liscomb  (sometimes Maud) was a nurse who lived at 47 Bloomingdale Ave. in Saranac Lake. She graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1905. She was also a patient and friend of Dr. Francis B. Trudeau. She may have had tuberculosis. After World War I, she married Fred C. Conrad, who eventually served as Mayor and held several other political positions.

In 2018, her great niece made a donation to Historic Saranac Lake of letters that Dr. Francis B. Trudeau wrote to Miss Liscomb while he was in service during WWI, serving at a military base in the U.S. He always spelled her name "Maud."

Mrs. Maude Conrad

JAY—Mrs. Maude Conrad, a native of Jay, wife of Franklin County Treasurer Fred C. Conrad, died at  her home at Saranac Lake on Tuesday.

Funeral services were held Thursday at the Fortune funeral home there. Burial was in St. John of the Wilderness cemetery at Saranac Lake.

Mrs. Conrad, nee Maude Liscomb was born in Jay, a daughter of John and Jennie (Sweeney) Liscomb. She was a registered nurse, having graduated from Utica General Hospital. For many years she was an office secretary for Dr. Edward S. Wells. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Besides her husband she is survived by two brothers Leon B. Liscomb of North Hollywood Calif., and Charles A. Liscomb of Saranac Lake; also one sister, Mrs. Mary Walker, Saranac Lake.
