Michael E. Cimbrec was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Stephen Cymbrak and Maria Barna.

BLOOMINGDALE — Michael E. (Mickey) Cimbrec died Monday at Batavia Veteran's Hospital.

He owned and operated the Brookside Hotel and restaurant here with his late wife for 25 years.

Born in Auburn, New York, November 8, 1913, he was the son of Stephen Cymbrak and Maria Barna.

He was married to the late Frances Farmer, who died in 1974.

Mr. Cimbrec was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of the Bloomingdale Fire Department and Captain of the Fire Police.

He was also a member of VFW Post No. 125, Plattsburgh and the Bloomingdale Amvets, Post 73.

He leaves his step-father, Steven Ewanaca of Auburn; two sons, Michael Edward Jr. and John Stephen, both of Bloomingdale; one sister, Mrs. Robert Anne Burns of Syracuse; two grandchildren, Michael Edward III and John T. Manning, and several nieces and nephews.

Repose is at Keough and Son Inc. Chapels where friends may call Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon and evening. There will be a bible vigil service Thursday at 8:15 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Bloomingdale, with the Rev. Peter A. Ward officiating. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Cemetery.

Friends wishing to remember Mr. Cimbrec may make contributions to the Bloomingdale Fire Department or the charity of their choice.
