Old St. Bernard's Cemetery in Pine Ridge is Section 5 in the center of the west side of Pine Ridge Cemetery, comprising about one-fifth to one-sixth of the total area of Pine Ridge, and containing the earliest Roman Catholic burials in Saranac Lake.

By 1888, enough need had developed for a Catholic cemetery to incorporate. In 1894, St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake acquired one and a half acres north of the Moody plots in Pine Ridge by deed from Benjamin and Elnora C. Moody, though burials are known to have taken place as early as 1891. Not separately inventoried as St. Bernard's, the names of those buried there may be found alphabetically by name on the appropriate Pine Ridge Cemetery page, marked Section 5, rather than the letters used to designate the rest of Pine Ridge.

The "new" St. Bernard's Cemetery is located on Ampersand Avenue at the intersection with Forest Home Road. Stones there date to 1918. Probably this new cemetery was opened when the Pine Ridge section was filled, or fully subscribed.
