Osgood River, north end The Osgood River runs north from Osgood Pond seven miles to Meacham Lake, for which it is the principal source; via the actual course of the river, the distance is over fourteen miles. It goes underground at one point about three miles downstream from Osgood Pond that was infamous among trappers, who called it the Thousand Islands. Despite its difficulties, it was part of a water route from Lower St. Regis Lake and Paul Smiths to Meacham Lake. It connects to McColloms Pond and Baker Pond along the way.
