Patrick (Patsy) Ezzo is believed to have been a bookie, living well with no visible means of support. His home was at 31 Duprey Street. Mr. Ezzo had belonged to a 'Last Man' Club of Veterans in Saranac Lake which at one time had a membership of 500. The club was founded in 1919 by veterans who developed tuberculosis during 'war service.' Their last meeting was held in August, 1968, and Ezzo was one of the surviving members with Ed Brill, Dr. Henry Leetch, Tony Durell, Bill Rankin, Art Niederbuhl and Pat Collins. Mr. Ezzo died in a spectacular car crash in the icy Wilmington Notch, headed for a card game in Plattsburgh, and his body was never found.
