PETER CURLEY DIES IN VA HOS.

Peter (Les) Curley of  22 Old Military Road, Saranac Lake, died yesterday in Sunmount Veterans Administration Hospital after a long illness. He was 53 years old.

Mr. Curley was born June 2, 1906 in Utica. He attended Utica schools graduating from Assumption Academy. During World War II, he served with the Eleventh Air Force Command in the Aleutian Islands. June 24, 1943 he was commended for distinguished service by Brig. General R. V. Ignico.

Following the war, Mr. Curley returned to Utica and married Louise Rawson. He came to Saranac Lake as a sales representative for a construction equipment company. He was later employed by the United State Corps of Engineers at Pittsburgh, until his illness.

He leaves his wife; a stepson, Richard Rawson, of Utica; and two sisters, Mrs. Robert Townsend of New York City, and Mrs. John Newman of Utica. A niece and nephew Linda and Robert Townsend. also survive.

The body is reposing at the Keough and Son Funeral Home where there will be an American Legion service at 7.30 p m, tomorrow. An Elks service will be held at 8 and a Rosary service at 8:30 p.m.

A Requiem High Mass will be celebrated in St. Bernard's Church at 11 Friday.  Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
