SARANAC LAKE -- Ralph VanCour, 77, of 16 Catherine St., died Tuesday, April 9, 1991 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. 

Born March 31, 1914 in Saranac Lake, he was the son of Joseph and Rose (Harmer) VanCour.

He was a dairyman, operating Mountain View Dairy from 1937 until his retirement in 1985.

He married Helena Moquin at St. Bernard's Church on June 20, 1938. She died March 13,1982.

Survivors include his son, Gary VanCour, of Plattsburgh; two daughters, Carol Mayo of South Plattsburgh and Joan VanCour of North Thetford, Vt.; five brothers, Bernard of Lake Clear, Ernest of Rochester, Edmund of Saranac Lake, Stanley of Lake Placid, and Ronald of Saranac Lake; a sister, Grace Douglas of Fletcher, N.C.; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Thomas VanCour, died earlier.

Calling hours will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fortune Funeral Home. A Bible vigil will be held at 7:30 tonight. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 11:15 a.m. at St Bernard's Church, the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, in May.

Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Lake Rescue Squad or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
