The Rebekah Lodge, also known as the Daughters of Rebekah, was the female auxiliary of the Odd Fellows. The local organization was known as the Kiwassa-Rebekah Lodge.

Over 1,200 Women Arrive To Attend State Convention

More than 1,200 women from Rebekah lodges of New York State arrived in Saranac Lake over the weekend for the 49th annual session of the Rebekah Assembly of the State of New York which began yesterday and continues through Thursday.

The sessions yesterday were marked by an informal reception from 2 until 6 o'clock in Hotel Saranac for officers and delegates. At 7 o'clock a past presidents dinner was held in the Hotel with a church service in the Methodist church at 7:45 o'clock.

The Rev. Theodore R. Bundy, pastor of the church, officiated and his sermon was entitled "Loyalty to Ideals." The Rev. Ernest B. Mounsey, rector of the Church of St. Luke the Beloved Physician, and the Rev. Alvin B. Gurley, pastor of the Presbyterian church, assisted.

At 9:30 a. m. this morning filing of credentials of delegates and officers and distribution of badges were conducted in the Harrietstown town hall, convention headquarters. At 1 o'clock there was a luncheon in Hotel Saranac honoring the Assembly officers and past presidents. The Past Noble Grands association of Franklin and Clinton counties gave the luncheon.

At 2 o'clock a sightseeing trip for Assembly officers and past presidents was held as well as a meeting of State Secretaries' association in the Odd Fellows hall.

At 6 o'clock this evening the association will have a dinner in

Hotel Saranac followed at 7:30 p. m. by a concert in the town hall given by the Saranac Lake High school band. At 8 p. m. there will be a public reception to the Assembly president, her associate officers, past presidents, delegates and visitors in the town hall.

Tomorrow at 9:30 a. m. a reception and welcome to the Assembly president, her officers, past presidents, delegates and visitors will be observed in the auditorium of town hall with the official Assembly opening and conferring of the Assembly degree at 10 o'clock.

At 1:30 p. m. there will be a luncheon honoring the Assembly officers and past presidents in Hotel Saranac sponsored by the P. D. D. P.'s Association of Metropolitan New York. At 2:30 p. m. a school of instruction will be conducted in the Methodist church by the state instructor, Ann Loeffler, a past president.

Tomorrow night at 8 o'clock in the town hall conferring of the degree by St. Lawrence Rebekah Lodge of Massena will be held. The lodge will be opened and closed by the Kiwassa-Rebekah lodge of this village.

Tomorrow and Wednesday noons luncheons for officers delegates will be served in the local Methodist church. Women of the church will be hostesses to the gatherings.
