Robert G. Paye was a World War I veteran.  He operated a garage at 38 Bloomingdale Avenue.  He was a son of George and Martha Muncil Paye.

ROBERT G. PAYE DIES SUDDENLY AT WORK SHOP

Robert G. Paye, 56, native of Saranac Lake; died suddenly about 11:30 o'clock yesterday morning at his shop at 38 Bloomingdale avenue after being stricken by a heart attack.

Mr. Paye had been in failing health for several years but had continued operation of his general automobile repair shop during the time. He was stricken while at work yesterday.

He was born Nov. 12, 1891 in this village, the son of the late George and Martha Muncil Paye. He attended the schools of Saranac Lake and was a veteran of World War I. Prior to opening his shop in Saranac Lake he had operated a garage in Tupper Lake.

Surviving him are his wife, the former Hazel Strough of this village whom he married on April 15, 1919; four children, Robert, David and Ida Paye and Mrs. Homer Gauthier; a brother, Hardy Paye of Tupper Lake; two sisters. Mrs. Elizabeth Longtemps and Mrs. Robert Moody of Saranac Lake and one grandchild.

The body is reposing at the Currier Funeral chapel on Woodruff street. Military funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Chapel with the Rev. Ernest B. Mounsey, rector of the Church of St. Luke the Beloved Physician, officiating. Internment will be in Pine Ridge cemetery.
