William A. Lippacher was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Edward and Gladys (Harwood) Lippacher.

SARANAC LAKE — William A. Lippacher, 74, of 94 Lake St., Saranac Lake, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1993 at his home.

Born Sept. 21, 1918 in Utica, he was the son of Edward and Gladys (Harwood) Lippacher.

A veteran of World War II, he moved to Saranac Lake after the war and has been a resident for over 40 years. He had been employed as a bookkeeper for George L. Starks and LaTour Fuel Co. and was a bookkeeper-dispatcher for Hyde Fuel until his retirement in 1991. He was an avid bowler and was a member of several leagues, and at the time of his death was a secretary for the Friday Night Men's League. He was a member and former president of the Saranac Lake Lions' Club and a member of the Elks BPOE 1508 of Saranac Lake.

Survivors include four sons, Stephen of Saranac, Alan of Plattsburgh, William of Johnsonville and Scott of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter, Mrs. William (Linda) Davis of Dannemora; a friend, Helen Bishop of Saranac Lake; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours or services at this time. A graveside service will be held in May at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

Memorial donations may be made to High Peaks Hospice or the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
