The High Noon Athletic Club is an informal, but very regular, running group that meets at the east end of Teagle Hall on the Cornell University Campus at noon, Monday through Friday, for runs of 5-10 miles, with some speedwork once a week. The group usually divides into two parts, one running in the ~7:00-7:30 min/mile pace range, one in the ~8:00 min/mile pace range. New runners are always welcome and workouts are often adapted to meet individual needs (loop-backs, early turnoffs, etc.). The only criteria for membership is showing up to run at noon - all ages and capabilities are welcome, from fitness runners to those actively training for races ranging from the 400m through the marathon. High Noon fields teams in all age categories (Open, Masters, Vets, and Super-Vets) at the Upstate New York Cross Country Series every year, generally taking home at least a few individual and team championships. High Noon also sponsors the annual Hartshorne Masters Mile in January.
