Indeanmeal Moth - WikiMedia

  • Fruit flies: They especially can get out of hand in summer months, and breed like crazy in trash cans, fruit bowls, and even dirty dishes. One of the best ways to kill kill these pests without spraying chemicals is to take a bowl and fill it with either orange juice, grapefruit juice, wine, or cider vinegar, wrap it with saran wrap and poke small holes at the top. They can get in but they can't get out. Make sure they are small enough, a poke with a fork is usually small enough
  • Indianmeal Moths: Because cereal, rice, and other grains are some of the cheapest, healthiest, and easiest foods someone can buy, they can pretty much be found in any household pantry. However, with cereal and grains come Indianmeal moths, especially if these items are left open. To get rid of them throw out all opened grain or cereal items, and even old sealed cereal boxes if you want to be safe. After getting rid of these items clear out the pantry and clean it with soap and water. Using glue traps often will reduce populations significantly, however Indianmeal moth pheramone traps are more effective. Spraying the insects with insecticides will only kill the ones you see, but there are likely more. Hence why traps work better.
