The City of Kitchener conducts an annual street sweeping program that contributes to the community's overall cleanliness. Some of the city's summer maintenance programs, including street sweeping, are shared by the Region of Waterloo.
The city currently owns four street sweeping units which operate on a schedule that ensures that city streets are kept clean and free of debris.
