Obituary

Catherine M. "Cass" Dagenais, 80, of Marquette, passed away on Thursday evening, August 30, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born June 22, 1932 to Milfred E. and Agnes C. Graham. Cass was a lifelong resident of Marquette and married Donald F. Dagenais on September 23, 1953. 

Cass attended the St. Luke School of Nursing and worked as an LPN and in the Rehab Department at St. Mary's Hospital and Marquette General for 27 years. Her work-related activities included serving on the Marquette County Commission on Aging, and attending Camp Independence at Bay Cliff Health Camp as a staff member for many years before returning several years, including 2012 as a camper. 

Cass was active in Marquette Community Theater, and was recently recognized as a charter (40 year) member of the Marquette Choral Society and was a board member emeriti of the Forest Roberts Theatre First Nighter's Club. She was a member of St. Peter Cathedral and was recently attending Messiah Lutheran Church. Cass was best known for her vibrant smile and love for her family, friends and her numerous activities.

Cass is survived by her daughter Claudette (Greg) Pryor of Wausau, WI, sons, Joseph Dagenais of Harvey and David Dagenais of Gwinn; grandchildren, Lindsey Pryor, Matthew Pryor, Joey Dagenais, Rachelle (Joel) Minning, and Aaron (Ashley) Dagenais; great grandsons, Corbin Dagenais and Elijah Minning; many nieces and nephews, Tom and Charlotte Waselesky of Beaver Grove and their children, and her Pomeranian, Rusty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bud LeVigne and William Graham, husband Donald Dagenais, longtime companion Charles Gabel, and daughter in law, Karen Dagenais.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church where a memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Amanda Kossow officiating. Interment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery
