The Villagers, founded in 1966, is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historic sites in Miami-Dade County.  In the course of its existence, the organization has given almost $1 million to historic projects.  It also has a scholarship program for students in the field of historic preservation or related subjects.  As much as $20,000 is awarded annually to several universities and to the Design and Architecture High School.  The main source of funds comes from two annual events.  Each December, a Holiday House Tour is held and in March a Spring Garden Tour.  More information is available on the website: thevillagersinc.org.
