Former site of Dixie Arena, first indoor ice rink in Toronto Township. In April, 1949, portions of the Gray and Dudley farms were purchased and Dixie Arena opened its doors on December 16, 1949. Dixie Arena was the home of the Dixie Beehives, an affiliate of the National Hockey League. The Dixie Beehives became one of Ontario's premier minor league teams, winning three Onatario Junior B divisional titles and three Ontario champianship trophies between 1954 and 1986, when the arena sold.
