On Friday, September 30, 2011 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. the city held an event where a number of food trucks were invited to show up at Celebration Square and sell their food.

This was the first time a Food Truck Rally was held in Mississauga, from the response from the general public this event was a success.

Traditionally Food Trucks have been thought off as trucks offering food to construction sites and with industrial parks (they also have funny sounding horns announcing their arrival on site sometimes). Food offered is usually in the $5 to $10 range, the food is usally just made before, so it's not uncommon to have to wait a little before getting your food.

The organizer of the event Suresh Doss, who runs the website http://www.spotlighttoronto.com which is about food and wine in the GTA, said the city was very co-operative and enthusiastic about getting this event off the ground.
