Details On Sat Oct 25, 2009, this rink was officially named after Mabel Boyd, by Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion and member of counctil, to recognize her long time service, vision and leadership to girl's and women's hockey. Mable is known as the "Grandmother" of organized women's hockey in Mississauga and one of the true pioneers of the game in Canada. Her efforts and contribution as one of the founders of the Mississauga Girls Hockey League are greatly appreciated and recognized.
