Mill Street Market Poster

Commonly referred to as "Thursday Night Market," this event is a weekly affair during the summer months that draws everyone in from around the county. It is sponsored by The Union and the Grass Valley Downtown Association. It used to be on Friday night but was changed a couple years ago.

Every Thursday, the street is cleared of streets so that vendors may set up their booths. Farmers, artists, and other local entrepeneurs sell fresh produce, flowers, lotions, arts and crafts. You can also receive massages and sample some of the local cuisine at booths set up by restaurants from Grass Valley and Nevada City. Some restaurants like the Owl Grill and Saloon offer outside dining during this experience.

The event takes place from 6PM-9PM every Thursday from Memorial to Labor Day.

There are a variety of parking lots that are open for public use. Additionally, there are many residential streets (the west side of Mill Street and it's off-shoots, in particular) that you may be able to locate parking on. However, be aware that this is a very popular festival and unless you arrive early, parking could be crazy. You may also be able to catch the Gold Country Stage into town if you don't want to deal with the parking fiasco.
