Silvermine

Silvermine is a neighborhood in the northwest part of Norwalk which also extends into Wilton and New Canaan. The Silvermine Community Association is the neighborhood association that represents the interests of the residents of the neighborhood to the city and the wider community. The Norwalk Association of Silvermine Homeowners (NASH) is the homeowners association representing the homeowners of the area. NASH is working toward getting a part of the neighborhood named to the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district.

The area was the home of several mills along the Silvermine River which were able to take advantage of steep inclines in the river.

The neighborhood includes: part of New Canaan Avenue near the New Canaan line, Purdy Road, Comstock Hill Avenue and the streets off of it, Silvermine Avenue just north of Bartlett Avenue, Cliffview Drive, James Street, Riverview Drive, Perry Avenue north and west of Route 7, and North Seir Hill Road, south of Vespucci Road.
