While born in the Bay Area, I grew up outside Seattle. I moved to Oakland in 2005, with a short stint in The Mission before coming back to the sunnier side of the Bay, and buying my first home in West Oakland in December 2012.
I spend most of my time as an organizer on social and ecological campaigns, focused mostly around climate change issues with 350.org. I used to play drums/guitar in punk bands, worked in the music industry (as a sound engineer, tour manager, and production manager) in my younger days. I climb, ride things with two wheels (bicycle and motorcycle), have been vegan for all of my adult life, and have my heart broken daily by cute dogs on the street.
