Terry Carroll is a writer, photographer, and publisher (Oakland House Press). Resident of Oakland's Rockridge neighborhood, he was born in San Francisco in 1960. He attended K-12 in Martinez and San Francisco State University for creative writing (B.A., 1982) and American history (M.A., 1988). Terry taught American history in East Bay community colleges and worked for several years as a classroom volunteer in San Francisco and Oakland elementary schools. From 2009 through 2011, Terry served as the in-house documentary photographer at the Oakland Museum of California during its transformation. Terry is the author of a photography monograph, Relationships (2008), and a non-fiction novel, Among the Fourth Graders (2013). Currently Terry is working on a series of biographical novels about Mary Jorjorian (1900-1979), an Armenian immigrant who settled in Oakland in 1923. As such, Terry is actively researching Oakland (making use of OaklandWiki) and has possession of primary documents and photographs of Oakland from Mary's life which he will draw on to contribute to OaklandWiki.
