Atlantic Avenue is a semi-major north-south corridor in Raleigh. The roadway runs roughly parallel to Capital Boulevard and Wake Forest Road.

Route Description

Atlantic Avenue begins at an interchange with Capital Boulevard near Downtown Raleigh as a continuation of Wake Forst Road as a five-lane undivided roadway.  The majority of the roadway runs alongside a CSX railroad track. The roadway runs through an industrial area south of its intersection with Six Forks Road, North of the intersection, Atlantic Avenue supplements a residential area, underpass I-440 and connects to other major roads such as New Hope Church Road, Millbrook Road, and Spring Forest Road, with commercial development at all three intersections. Atlantic then underpasses the railroad track before reaching its northern terminus at Dixie Forest, Litchford, and Old Wake Forest Roads.
