Innnovate Raleigh

How to we foster collaboration with NCSU on ecponmic dev

finding gaps, creating innovation center, what funding is available, branding. How to tell the story.

also to serve a s a catalyst in the region. The success was partially b/c they brought together peopel who never talk. Starting to see themselves a aa region. Raleigh has "innovation sprawl."

How do we bring this to Triangle?

Should we have common data standards?

How about a gathering of regional (municipal & county) IT directors?

Should we ave InnovateTriangle? Or local ones and feed into a regional one?

We have a regional bodies around transit, what are other sectors where we might do things together? Water, planning, (See Triangle J COG: aging, economic development, GIS info, regional planning)  IT? Volunteering/resources.

Spaces can be a good way to foster innovation, ie: using gov't spaces for meetings. Another idea is a database f places that could be searched by different criteria.

How to get the different cities to see that each of our success benefits all of us.

Bringing in outside voices can be helpful (eg: bringing Cary official to Raleigh's CityCamp.) We don't know what we don't know.

RFP (request for partnership).

How about a state Code for America project that could be used by any municipality.

Leverage things like Google Hangout (etc.) across the region.
