About Heritage Hills

Heritage Hills is a beautiful neighborhood located in Chapel Hill, NC. A short drive from town, Heritage Hills boasts a harmonic community; exceptional recreational facilities including a swimming pool, tennis court, and playground; and several wooded trails for walking, running, or mountain biking.

Features

  • The Heritage Hills Recreational Club (HHRC), open during the summer season, provides access to a variety of services. The primary offering is a large swimming pool, complete with a main area (3.5 ft - 6 ft), deep end (6 ft - 12 ft), wading/child area (2 ft), and a separate baby pool (1 ft). The pool also contains two diving boards of varying sizes and multiple lap lanes for competitive or casual swimmers. Accompanying the pool are numerous pool chairs (sitting or tanning), tables (food or discussion), grass area (casual play) and 360º spectating room. On staff are trained lifeguards.
  • The HHRC also houses a convenient snack bar (only during summer). Year-round, unmanned facilities include: Two basketball and tennis courts with lighting and a beautiful playground developed by in-neighborhood contractors.
  • Finally, the HHRC offers swim lessons, water aerobics classes, and tennis camps throughout the summer.
  • A variety of trails are available at the service of neighborhood residents. These are designed for walking, running, mountain biking, and dog-walking. Look for an entrance near the pumping station at the end of Brandywine, and another's entrance can be found via side street in lower Yorktown. Please note that the trails are governed by its users, so kindly pick up after yourself!

    • Grey Culbreth Middle (6-8)
    • Carrboro High (9-12)
  • UNC-Chapel Hill campus can also be reached from Heritage Hills in roughly 15 minutes by car. A park-and-ride lot is available nearby.
